Headline: BBDN, CCCI, YPSA and BEF organized “Sensitizing Human Resource Professionals” Seminar on 25 January 2018 at Chittagong

The Chittagong Chamber of Commerce and Industry (CCCI), Bangladesh Employers’ Federation (BEF), Young Power in Social Action (YPSA) and Bangladesh Business and Disability Network (BBDN) jointly organized a seminar on “Sensitizing Human Resources Professionals to Promote the Employment of Person with Disabilities” on 25 January 2018 in Bangabandhu Conference Hall at World Trade Center, Chittagong.
In the seminar the chief guest Mr. M.A. Latif, Member of Parliamentary Standing Committee on Ministry of Shipping, Power, Energy & Mineral Resources and Chittagong Hill tracts Affair urged to transform the ability of Persons’ with Disabilities to Skilled workers and Entrepreneurs to achieve the SDG goals. Mr. Syed Jamal Ahmed, the Vice President of CCCI chaired the seminar.
Mr. Murteza R. Khan, Co-Chair of BBDN and Mr. Albert Mollah, Disability Consultant, B-SEP Project, presented power point presentation on disability inclusion at the work place. Md. Salahuddin Yousuf and Mr. Minhaz Uddin Chowdhury, Member of Joint Committee on Skills Development and Disability Inclusion, Mr. Vashkar Bhattachearjee, Program Manager of YPSA, Mr. Anjan Shekar Das, Director of CCCI, Mr. Didarul Alam, President of Chittagong Blind Cricket Club delivered their valuable speeches.
Among the human resources professionals Md. Arif Ullah, HR Admin, Pedrollo Group, Md. Alamgir, Head of HR, Ruby Cement, representatives from AK Khan-CRP Chittagong, PHP, GPH Ispat, Clifton Group, Maf shoes Limited, Coats BD, Mutual Trust Bank, BRAC, UCEP BD and other employers’, NGO’s, DPO’s were present in seminar.
Md. Ataur Rahman , DGM-HR, Admin shared their positive experiences about the successful employees recruited from last August seminar and also those employees spoke about their wonderful relationship and working experiences which was the great showcasing for the seminar. Chamber Director Mr. Anjan Shekhor Das commented that employee he recruited through CCCI job placement desk is performing very well with high productivity and regular attendance. These success stories are the ultimate motivational driving forces to the HR participants.
From the seminar the CCCI declared that, Job fair for person with disabilities will be organized in April at Chittagong in collaboration with Bangladesh Business & Disability Network. The present guests emphasized on sensitization program, integrated mechanism, tax rebate for employers’, research and policy development, social changes, partnership development, technical education, skill development to build inclusive, diversified and sustainable workforce in Bangladesh.
