Bangladesh Business & Disability Network (BBDN), with support from Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) GmbH, successfully organized the event “Handover of Return to Work and Occupational Diseases & Occupational Medicine Training Manuals and Dialogue on the Way Forward for Scale-up” on 16 October 2025 at the Chamber Building, Motijheel, Dhaka.

The event brought together representatives from DIFE, NOSHTRI, ILO, and GIZ, along with healthcare and HR professionals, industry leaders, and development partners. Discussions focused on how the newly developed training manuals can be replicated and integrated into existing government systems.

The program featured a presentation on the structure and key elements of the manuals and highlighted BBDN’s ongoing efforts to improve occupational disease identification & management, occupational medicine practices, and return-to-work processes. The event also included a symbolic handover of the training manuals to NOSHTRI and DIFE.

This effort is part of BBDN and GIZ’s broader Social Protection for Workers in the Textile and Leather Sector project, aimed at equipping professionals with the tools to identify and manage occupational diseases and support workers’ safe return to work.

Together, we are working toward safer, healthier, and more inclusive workplaces for all workers in Bangladesh.
