Under the Aporajeyo Ami Initiative, Bangladesh Business and Disability Network (BBDN), in collaboration with BRAC Bank PLC, organized a Career Guidance and Job Readiness Session on 21 January 2026. The half-day session aimed to enhance participants’ self-awareness, career planning capacity, and preparedness for the competitive job market.
The session was facilitated by a team of experienced professionals from the BRAC Skills Development Program, who delivered practical, market-oriented guidance aligned with current employment trends and employer expectations. A total of 59 participants with disabilities attended the session, comprising 49 male and 10 female participants.
A dedicated session on Goal Setting and Employment Opportunities across Different Sectors focused on exploring major job sectors in Bangladesh and understanding evolving employment trends. Facilitators highlighted key transferable skills commonly sought by employers across industries, including communication, problem-solving, and digital skills. Through an individual exercise, participants identified their dream job alongside alternative career options, enabling them to develop realistic and adaptable career plans.
The Advanced CV Writing session provided participants with in-depth guidance on essential CV components, common mistakes to avoid, and effective presentation techniques. The session also introduced the use of artificial intelligence tools for CV development.
The final session addressed Workplace Etiquette, Grooming, and Interview Preparation, covering professional conduct, appropriate dress code, body language, and commonly asked interview questions. Discussions helped participants better understand workplace norms and build confidence for interviews.
Overall, the session contributed to enhancing participants’ preparedness for employment by combining practical skill development with market-relevant career guidance. The initiative reflects the continued commitment of BBDN and BRAC Bank PLC to promoting employability and supporting inclusive access to decent work opportunities for persons with disabilities.
