BBDN’s Dhaka Job Fair for Persons with Disabilities 2018

Bangladesh Business and Disability Network (BBDN) – a unique network of employers promoting disability inclusion in workplace- specially tailored for the people with disability, partnering with BRAC organized the ‘Job Fair for Persons with Disabilities 2018’ on Saturday 20th October 2018 at Krishibid Institution Bangladesh Complex, Krishi Khamar Road, Farmgate, Dhaka. BBDN is supported by the Government of Canada, funded ILO’s Bangladesh Skills for Employment and Productivity (B-SEP) project that works in partnerships with the Government of Bangladesh.

Mr. Abul Kalam Azad, Chief Coordinator for Sustainable Development Goals (SDG) Affairs, Prime Minister’s Office was present as the Chief Guest in the program. He said ‘Since the government is working to achieve the SDG goal in its all capacity and no one should leave behind to achieve the goal. He thinks this kind of jobs fair is highly motivating for the persons with disabilities.

Out of 232 number of persons with disabilities aspiring for jobs, 110 persons with a range of impairment successfully availed employment from the event.

Total more than 380 participants i.e. Job Seekers with Disabilities, Employers, Representatives from Employers’ Organizations like BEF, Government Officials, Development Partners, Disabled People’s Organizations, NGOs, INGOs, and Media were participated in Job Fair where about 230 Job Seekers and 20 employers’ like Urmi Group, Akhtar Group, Shwapno, Babylon group, Fakir Apparels, Vintage Denim Ltd., DBL Group, Esquire Group recruited from the fair.
