Nestle is the world’s largest food and beverage company, with over 2000 brands that include worldwide icons as well as regional favourites. Nestle has a global presence in 191 countries. The organization has been an active employer of different programs in BBDN and always had the aspiration for inclusive employment.
Nestle Bangladesh recently shared internship opportunities with BBDN where Rezahan Sharkar was one of the referred candidates. Rezahan Sharkar was born in 1996 and grew up as a person without disability. In 2006, he lost his left hand in an unfortunate road accident. Becoming a person with disability never demotivated him in this career path. He completed BBA and MBA from Jahangirnagar University and started looking for job opportunities. Rezahan faced discrimination in the interviews and always felt that the people with disabilities are deprioritized in the recruitment processes. BBDN reached Rezahan through Access Bangladesh Foundation (ABF) and the IW consortia supported him in the selection processes for internship at Nestle Bangladesh. He received support from the consortia in preparing himself for the interview. On 2nd May, 2021, Rezahan joined Nestle as an intern.
He is trying to learn through his experiences and enjoying his internship days. The Nestle team has been very helpful towards him. In future, Rezahan wants to work in the private sectors of Bangladesh or become an entrepreneur.
