On February 20, 2025, the Bangladesh Business & Disability Network (BBDN) organized the “Workshop on Building a Disability – Inclusive Workforce” at Sylhet Chamber Of Commerce & Industry (SCCI). This workshop was part of International Labour Organization (ILO)’s “Promoting Gender Responsive Enterprise Development and TVET System (ProGRESS) Project,” implemented with the support of Government of Canada.

The event brought together key business leaders, including representatives from Sylhet Chamber Of Commerce & Industry (SCCI) and Sylhet Women Chamber of Commerce and Industry, to discuss employment opportunities for persons with disabilities. One of the most impactful aspects of the session was the active participation of individuals with disabilities, who shared their experiences, challenges, and ideas on creating greater inclusivity. Their insights highlighted the urgent need for businesses to adopt disability-friendly policies and practices.

We extend our sincere gratitude to Sylhet Chamber of Commerce and Industry for their invaluable support in making this workshop a success. This workshop is part of a 10-district sensitization workshops, and as BBDN continues this journey, we remain committed to bridging the gap between employers and job seekers with disabilities, ensuring equal opportunities for all.

Together, we can create a future where workplaces are truly inclusive!
