On 4 September, BBDN and BRAC Bank PLC organized the Job Fair for Persons with Disabilities 2025 at the Krishibid Institution Bangladesh in Dhaka under the Aporajeyo Ami initiative. The fair brought together 347 job seekers with disabilities and 22 employers from banking, ICT, RMG, retail, and development sectors, creating one of the largest inclusive employment platforms of the year. Ahead of the event, over 620 individuals registered online, reflecting the strong demand for job opportunities among persons with disabilities.
Throughout the day, candidates took part in CV screening, interviews, and a soft-skills orientation facilitated by BBDN. In total, 46 candidates with disabilities received job offers and internships, while graduates of the digital marketing training program were also awarded certificates for completing their course.
We were honoured to welcome Mr. Bijoy Krishna Debnath, Additional Secretary of the Ministry of Social Welfare, as Chief Guest. We were also joined by Mr. Syed Abdul Momen, Additional Managing Director and Head of SME Banking, BRAC Bank PLC; Mr. Max Tuñón, Country Director (Designated), ILO; Mr. Fazlee Shamim Ehsan, President, Bangladesh Employers’ Federation (BEF); and Mr. Ardashir Kabir, Chairman, BBDN Board of Trustees, as special guests. Representatives from disability organizations, development partners, and the media were also present, demonstrating strong cross-sector commitment to inclusive employment.
The fair was more than a recruitment event – it was a space for building confidence, opening pathways to meaningful careers, and promoting workplace inclusion. We extend our sincere appreciation to all companies, partners, and participants whose support made this event possible. Together, we are taking meaningful steps toward a more inclusive workforce and a future where everyone has equal access to opportunity.
