Sensitization Session with BRAC Bank PLC

Bangladesh Business and Disability Network (BBDN) conducted the third batch of its ongoing Sensitization Session series with BRAC Bank PLC. Held on April 21, 2025, at Sepal Platinum Tower in Tejgaon, the session was organized under the BRAC Bank – BBDN Aporajeyo Ami Program.

The session began with opening remarks from Mr. Shafiq R. Bhuiyan, Vice President & Senior Manager – Communication and CSR | Communication, BRAC Bank PLC. It featured interactive activities and discussions led by BBDN team members: Ms. Aziza Ahmed (Director Operations), Mr. Tareq Mahmud (Deputy Program Manager), and Mr. Nayem Molla (Communications and Admin Officer). Participants engaged in meaningful conversations about different types of disabilities, inclusive communication, leadership, and practical strategies to enhance inclusion in the workplace.

A key highlight at the session was an engaging talk by Mr. Sajjad Hossain, HR Manager, ACI Logistics Limited (Shwapno). Drawing from his hands-on experience, Mr. Sajjad shared powerful stories of hiring persons with disabilities at various Shwapno outlets, nurturing their leadership potential, and the positive impact this inclusive approach has had on team morale and overall business performance. His session underscored how inclusion is not just a moral imperative, but a smart business strategy.

The session also included impactful simulations, such as the Privilege Walk and a Visual Impairment Simulation, helping participants deepen their empathy and understanding of the barriers persons with disabilities often face.

The event concluded with inspiring closing remarks by Ms. Nafisa Shadaf (AVP & Senior Manager – CSR Resource Mobilization, BRAC Bank PLC).
